Joanie Cramer has been an active Jaycee member for 10 years, joining the Wilmington, North Carolina Jaycees in 2000. From her first meeting (where she joined), Joanie has sought out leadership roles to increase her personal skills while benefiting her community.
Throughout her Jaycee Career, in addition to chairing local projects, Joanie has served as:
- 2001 local chapter Secretary
- 2002 local Chapter President (finishing the year as the largest growth chapter in NC)
- 2003 COB and advisor to St. Mark's Jaycees (a special needs chapter)
- 2004 District Director
- 2005 State Individual Development Vice President for North Carolina
- 2006 North Carolina State President
- 2007 NC Chairman of the Board and appointed to the National Awards Committee (NAC)
- 2008 NAC Chair
- 2009 NVP assigned to the states of Virginia, Mississippi, Arizona, Montana,
Wyoming, Minnesota and Missouri (making 26 trips to 16 different states, training,
recruiting and inspiring Jaycees to become more involved in the organization)
Currently Joanie is serving as 2010 States Presidents' Coach for the US Jaycees.
Joanie was born in Lorain, Ohio and is a 1992 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with double honors and a BS Degree in Telecommunications and Film with a Management minor. Professionally, Joanie has worked in broadcast media, sales management and the mortgage industry.
Joanie currently resides in the Charlotte, NC area with her husband, Tom, who is a past State President and an active member in the JCI Senate. She is the proud Step-Mom to 23 year-old Alex and 19 year-old Charlotte.
In her spare time, Joanie enjoys learning to cook, spending time with family and friends, working in the yard and doing home improvement projects.
